| New Features in Version 3.6.3 (2010) |
|
(1) Custom Modes - Now users can define their own custom modes and sub-modes. For example, freight trucks can be separated by vehicle, type, such as single-unit, tractor-trailer, or longer combination vehicle. Similarly, separate transit modes can be distinguished such as bus rapid-transit, light-rail, heavy rail, high-speed rail, on-call van services, etc. Or separate aviation modes can be defined such as commercial jet, air taxi, general aviation, etc. Mode labels and features can be defined by the users. (2) Custom Market Segments - The trip purpose dimension can now be redefined to include any segmentation of markets. For instance, there can be a split between commuting and tourism, or between peak and off-peak times, or between summer and winter seasons, or between restricted oversize/heavy and normal vehicles. The number of market segments, their labels and trip characteristics can be defined by the user. (3) Finance Report - Version 3.6.3 enables use of the new Finance Module, which adds two types of capabilities: (1) to forecast the federal, state and local tax revenue impacts of tranportation and economic changes, and (2) to forecast the public and private revenue and cost implications of tolls, fares or fees affecting various modes or market segments. (4) Updated Datasets - Economic datasets have been upgraded to end of year 2008 information. (5) Travel Time Variability - The economic effects of growing traffic congestion (and scenarios to reduce it) can now be modeled through an improved choice of user options that allow congestion and its effects to be represented in terms of either volume/capacity relationships or buffer times. (6) Other Usability Features - TREDIS input forms and output reports have been reformatted to provide more compact presentation and printing. (7) Data Import/Export - Select tables and reports can be exported as spreadsheets or PDF documents. Data can also be imported directly from spreadsheets or text files. |
